Twitter, which not only brings together millions of people, but also plays a key role in connecting brands with the masses, celebrates the hashtag's 10th anniversary. Hashtags form the words expressed with the (#) symbol, and the use of hashtags manages to unite millions of people around the same topic. Hashtags, which were first used on Twitter exactly 10 years ago and play a very important role in interaction, not only unite users around current issues, but also stand out as an important tool for brands to make their voices heard to the target audience.

Many brands have carried out many campaigns on Twitter using hashtags, and they continue to do so. Brands that were the first to use the hashtag, on the other hand, undoubtedly managed to touch the target audience in a completely different way by opening a whole new page in the world of digital marketing.

In 2012, Pepsi Turkey signed the first campaign created using the first promoted hashtag in Turkey. Using the hashtag #bENimmanşetim for its Ruffles campaign, the brand invited many users to tweet the best about Beşiktaş - Kayserispor match with this hashtag. At the end of the campaign, Fotomaç, who tweeted the best, made a headline!

In the following years, many campaigns were created with the promoted hashtag, and brands such as Unilever Turkey, Nestle Turkey and Turkcell in particular carried out very active marketing activities in this area.
